The North Shore Outdoor Circle was founded as a branch in 1987. We are located on Oahu's beautiful, yet relatively rural North Shore. Unbeknownst to many residents, our predecessor organization was the Waialua Outdoor Circle established in 1952.

Our North Shore community is well known for winter surf, surfing contests, fishing, snorkeling, and watching sea life such as whales, turtles and monk seals. A longtime farming community considered a special historic district by the City and County of Honolulu, Haleiwa is home to 34 historic buildings featuring plantation architectural styles influenced by the former Waialua Sugar Company. We appreciate the laid back, "country" lifestyle and understand we must be vigilant regarding:
  • Planting and protecting Trees
  • Protecting View Planes
  • Preservation of Natural Resources
  • Illegal signage
  • Litter
  • Education through beautification
The NSOC has initiated and completed various beautification projects, two examples are, Ke Ala Pupukea, a 3.5-mile bike path at Sunset Beach, and Weed Circle, at the entrance to Hale‘iwa Town. We continue to look for projects and partner with other community groups.
