Land use is a core issue for The Outdoor Circle. This is particularly true when it concerns the inappropriate use of special places such as landmarks, parks and green space, or in protecting view planes. Our branches also are active in protecting special places in their communities from land use that changes the character of the community or the countryside.
The Outdoor Circle is not against progress or reasonable efforts by developers to meet the growing needs of our islands. We do, however, strongly believe that every effort must be made to protect the natural beauty of our state from inappropriate land use.
